Premium furniture painting for pieces worth keeping.
Custom painted furniture should feel smooth, intentional, and built to live with — not like a quick chalk-paint weekend flip. Every commission begins with a private, non-binding photo review.
Send clear photos of the overall piece, the tabletop surface, and close-ups of any chips or hardware. Initial reviews are completely free and non-binding — we assess paint adhesion feasibility, prep needs, and finish directions before any commitment.
Study the transformation.
Drag the slider to see how professional prep, tannin-blocking primer, durable satin enamel, and hardware restyling turn a dated orange finish into a timeless studio statement piece.
Why furniture enamel outlasts quick DIY chalk paint.
Most painted furniture chips or scuffs within months because standard wall paint or chalk paint lacks mechanical adhesion. We build our finishes using high-performance furniture enamels designed specifically for daily contact.
Dedicated Furniture Enamel
We use hybrid alkyd/acrylic and specialized furniture enamels that level smoothly without brush marks. They cure into a rock-hard, washable satin shell that resists scratches, cleans with a damp microfiber cloth, and requires no fragile wax coats.
Tannin-Blocking Primer
Vintage cherry, mahogany, and stained woods contain natural tannins that bleed pink or amber through light paint. We seal every piece with stain-blocking bonding primer to lock tannins permanently beneath the finish.
Thorough Adhesion Prep & Repairs
No shortcuts: we strip old waxes, degrease oils around handles, scuff-sand the entire surface for mechanical grip, and repair minor veneer chips, edge dings, or dings with high-density wood filler or epoxy putty before painting.
Two-Tone & Hardware Restyling
We often pair painted cases with stained natural wood tops for organic warmth (as shown in our two-tone nightstands project), and either polish original solid brass hardware or fill antique off-standard screw holes to install modern handles seamlessly.
Furniture that thrives with custom painting.
Painting is often the smartest choice for pieces with solid wood construction but dated 1980s golden finishes, mixed secondary woods, or surface blemishes that would distract under clear stain.
- Heavy vintage dressers and highboys ready for modern grounding
- China hutches, consoles, and bookcases with tired yellowed varnish
- Two-tone transformations (satin black or sage body with walnut top)
- Nightstand pairs and desks needing minor cosmetic chip repairs and hardware restyling
Real painted transformations from our Olympia studio.
From single statement highboys to complete multi-piece bedroom suites, our painted finishes balance mechanical adhesion prep with timeless color direction.
