Confirmed Studio Scope
Hutches, dressers, and family storage pieces restored with disciplined prep.
Lacey homeowners frequently reach out with solid-wood or quality-veneered dressers, two-piece china hutches, buffets, and bedroom sets that have good construction but dated orange varnish, worn tops, or chipped drawer edges. Rather than applying a quick coat over old wear, we strip or sand surfaces appropriately, bond-prime for durability, and execute either a calm painted finish, a warm natural wood tone, or a two-tone combination.
What repairs we handle (and what we decline): Alongside full refinishing or painting, we perform minor cosmetic and drawer repairs—rebuilding chipped edges or surface gouges with wood putty or two-part Bondo and tuning sticking wooden drawer slides. We do not perform major structural reconstruction, broken chair or table frame joinery, upholstery, or standalone mobile touch-ups. Read our common furniture fixes guide to compare cosmetic vs. structural issues.
Free Preliminary Assessment
Send photos before moving a heavy hutch or dresser.
You do not need to load a heavy dresser or two-piece cabinet into a truck just to find out whether it is a candidate. Send a straight-on full photo, an angled close-up of any surface wear or chipped veneer, and a shot of an open drawer corner or hardware detail (see our photo submission guide). Our photo review is free and preliminary—not a binding quote—and confirms material suitability, finish options, and Lacey pickup/delivery availability before any commitment.

Lacey Restoration Questions
How does pickup and delivery work between Lacey and your Olympia studio?
All restoration work takes place at our private studio in Olympia. Lacey clients can either schedule a studio drop-off by appointment or request pickup and delivery coordination. Transport feasibility is confirmed individually during the photo review and priced at a $45 local one-way minimum ($85 round-trip minimum) or $2.70 per transport mile.
What types of furniture repairs are included with a Lacey restoration project?
We handle minor cosmetic and drawer repairs alongside full refinishing or painting—including filling edge chips and surface gouges with wood putty or two-part Bondo and tuning sticking wooden drawers. We do not offer major structural reconstruction, broken frame joinery, upholstery, or standalone in-home touch-ups.
Is the private photo review a binding quote?
No. The private photo review is free and preliminary. It gives you honest directional guidance on whether your piece is a good candidate, which finish options fit best, and what factors will shape the final scope before anyone moves heavy furniture.
