Studio Standards

Not every piece belongs in the studio.

We do not do quick flips, and we do not refinish disposable particle board. Our studio is dedicated to solid, well-built furniture that deserves a permanent place in your home.

This protects the quality of the work, the durability of the finish, and the value of your investment.

Investment Guide

Quoted by the piece, not rushed by the hour.

Every piece is quoted individually based on size, material, condition, repair needs, and finish direction. Broken Souls is best for solid, well-built furniture where a lasting finish matters more than a quick flip.

The Value of Solid Wood

Built to be inherited, not replaced.

Modern fast-furniture is built to be replaced. Vintage furniture was built to be inherited.

For a fraction of the cost of high-end modern retail, we take your solid-wood piece and give it a smooth, durable finish designed to last another lifetime.

Restoration is not just a repair. It is a way to keep quality, memory, and craftsmanship in your home.

For High-Value Pieces

If it matters, the process needs to feel safe before work begins.

For heirlooms, solid wood tables, and sentimental pieces, the first job is not the finish. It is trust. We review photos, condition, damage, finish direction, handoff needs, and visible risk before recommending the path forward.

01Condition Review

Photos and damage close-ups are reviewed before the piece is accepted.

02Scope Clarity

Hidden damage, finish expectations, and limitations are discussed before work begins.

03Careful Handoff

Pickup, drop-off, storage, and return are handled as part of the trust process.

Heirloom Care Standard

Your piece is not inventory. It is history.

From the moment it enters our Olympia studio to the moment it is returned, your furniture is treated as something personal, not replaceable.

Pieces are kept in a secure studio environment, protected during the work, and moved with padding, wrapping, and direct hands-on care.

01Protected Intake

Condition, goals, and delicate areas are reviewed before work begins.

02Careful Handling

Moving, staging, and delivery are padded, wrapped, and handled with restraint.

03Finish Respect

Every repair and finish choice is made to protect the meaning and structure of the piece.

Aftercare

Preservation does not stop at delivery.

Restored pieces can be checked, cleaned, touched up, or refreshed over time. For past clients, maintenance and preservation support helps the finish stay beautiful through everyday life.

White-Glove Hand-Off

Returned with what it needs to stay beautiful.

Every restored piece is returned with a custom touch-up kit — including a small reserve of your exact custom paint or stain — so your piece stays flawless through everyday life.

People hesitate when they do not know the process. Broken Souls keeps it simple: photos, direction, quote, work, return.

02

03

Craft

Before You Ask

The simple answers.

Most people have the same quiet questions before they reach out. Here is what you need to know.

Do I need to clean or strip the furniture before giving it to you?

No. We handle everything from the raw state, including prep, cleaning, sanding, repair, refinishing, painting, staining, and sealing.

I don't know the exact color I want yet. Is that okay?

Absolutely. We help you select the right finish during the consultation based on your room, the piece, and the look you want to live with every day.

Can you fix deep scratches or missing veneer?

Yes. Cosmetic repair is a core part of the restoration process. We can assess scratches, chips, dents, missing veneer, and surface damage before giving a clear recommendation.

How much does furniture restoration typically cost?

Every project is quoted individually after photos are reviewed. Size, condition, material, repairs, finish direction, and delivery needs all affect the investment. Broken Souls is best for people who want a durable, lasting finish instead of a quick low-cost flip.

Do you offer pickup or delivery?

Pickup and delivery may be available depending on your location, the size of the piece, schedule, and project scope. We discuss this during the quote so the handoff is clear before work begins.

Can you match an existing finish?

We can often get close to an existing stain, paint, or design direction, but exact matching can vary because of wood species, age, previous finishes, lighting, and wear. Photos and inspiration images help us guide the closest realistic direction.

What if I am not happy with the result?

Finish direction, scope, and expectations are discussed before work begins. If something feels off during the final review, we talk through what can reasonably be adjusted within the approved scope and finish system.

Service Area

Serving Olympia and the South Sound.

Broken Souls works with restoration clients in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, Yelm, DuPont, and surrounding South Sound areas. Delivery and pickup availability depends on location, schedule, and project scope.

Have A Piece To Let Go?

We may accept it for rescue.

If you no longer want a solid, well-built piece, submit photos before donating, dumping, or listing it for free. If it has restoration potential, it may qualify for the studio.
